- Each candidate will participate in two coaching cycles that demonstrate phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in action.
- One cycle is for the K-3 grade band, the other cycle is for the 4-12 grade band.
- Coaching and feedback will take place using students the candidate has access to through their Excellence in Teaching Program assignment or through collaboration with their local school district.
- Candidates may work with small groups of students or with a single student/case study depending on the availability of students to the candidate within each grade band, K-3 and 4-12.
- The coaching cycles include collaborative planning and a feedback loop consisting of consultation before, during, and after the instructional/coaching sessions.
