Candidates applying to the Excellence in Teaching Program must pay a $100 non-refundable application processing fee. This fee is required before an interview is scheduled.
The cost of the Excellence in Teaching Program Subject Area General Education route is $9,000 if teaching outside of the CESA 9 region. The cost is $8,000 if employed in one of CESA 9’s 22 school districts (see list below).
Upon acceptance into the program, the participant pays a $750 non-refundable deposit to secure their place in the cohort. The $750 non-refundable deposit will be applied toward the total program fees. Once the deposit is received, the CESA 9 business office will send a payment plan agreement. This agreement must be signed and submitted before the first payment is due on September 15, 2025. Participants are responsible for making payments by the deadlines established in the agreement. All fees must be paid in full before the participant can be endorsed for licensure by the Excellence in Teaching Program. Participants will be charged a $200 late fee for payments that are 60 days or more overdue.
Additional fees that a participant may incur include but are not limited to Praxis exam fees, Foundations of Reading Test (FoRT) fees, and costs associated with traveling to and from CESA 9. The Excellence in Teaching Program is not a credit-bearing institution so we do not qualify for financial aid.
